Description

Our Cut To Size Galvanised Mild Steel Tube is a strong, durable and specially treated metal tubing material for many outdoor applications. Our galvanised mild steel tube is available cut to size to suit your unique project requirements and can be used alongside our tube clamp range to create frames and fencing.

This mild steel tubing is of a medium thickness, has a plain end, and can be used in a huge number of demanding structural applications. From construction, manufacture and industry to automotive use and engineering, you’ll be able to create practical piping frames, fittings and other structured systems and grids. If you're looking to create some form of structure, frame or railing with your steel tube, browse our range of tube clamps for the correct fixings and fittings.

Although mild steel is strong, versatile and incredibly easy to work with, it is susceptible to corrosion, however, Austen Knapman have solved this problem. Our mild steel tube has undergone a galvanisation process where a protective coating of zinc has been applied to protect it from oxidisation, making it suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions.

Mild steel is one of the most widely available and commonly used forms of steel, providing both high strength and excellent forming properties afforded by its lower carbon content. This reduced carbon content makes mild steel more ductile and therefore easier to work, weld, cut and drill, serving as a versatile choice for a wider range of applications. Commonly used in the construction industry to manufacture reliable structures, it is also a terrifically ‘green’ material as it is widely recycled.
