Description

Our Mild Steel Plate Cold Rolled Sheet is a smooth, multi-purpose, ‘cold reduced’ steel sheet, available in a range of useful pre-cut sizes to choose from. Cold rolled steel sheet offers superior strength compared to its hot rolled counterpart, while still using very similar manufacturing techniques. Our mild steel CR4 sheet is available in a number of set pre-cut sizes, making it perfect for fabricating on site.

Cold rolled steel is suitable for many applications, including metal cabinets, lockers and other domestic and commercial applications and appliances. It’s a great choice for industrial buildings, furniture, sheds and garage projects.

Cold rolling is a special process that improves the practical properties and working qualities of steel. Whereas hot rolling is a process that uses heat, cold rolled steel is first heated and then cooled, before undergoing further finishing work at room temperature, such as roller compression, turning, grinding and polishing. Cold rolled steel sheet provides a smoother, more consistent finished surface and a harder, stronger composition. It will also be more resistant to deformation and resilient to breaking under tension due to its hardness. The result is a highly reliable mild steel plate with a uniform thickness and proven high performance in a number of applications.

This sheet benefits from great formability thanks to the lower carbon content of mild steel, and can be easily worked in any number of ways. It is extremely receptive to cutting, drilling and welding, making it an ideal material for repair work; especially in the automotive industry where it can be used to repair vehicle chassis’, tanks and trailers.

Good productReviewed by Moredibe on 15 Oct 2020

This seems to delay the order for a few days as it is stocked at Paignton depot and it has to be shipped to Saltash before delivery, All deliveries so far have been good and the steel is in good shape when it arrives.
